Dilemma
I've finally read last month's write from my students, but here is my dilemma, do I use their Final draft to evaluate thier growth or the monthly writes. The monthly writes, in my opinion give a truer picture of growth, but the final drafts, well are better written. So which do I choose, or does it matter?

Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI think you have an opportunity, not a dilemma! I think you should use both categories of writing and once you've compiled your data you can compare the final draft info to the monthly writes info. Of course the final draft data will show better writing, but in what ways? Can you show a connection between the monthly writes over time and the final drafts? Do they both increase? Do monthly writes in February compare to final drafts from back in October? Something like that. I hope this gives you some ideas to play around with! Enjoy!
